Jo Taylor’s recent works are inspired by the Rococo period and are created by combining techniques including hand building, sprigging and the potter’s wheel. Work is fired once: clay often has colour mixed through or has slip applied.Qualifications include MA in Ceramics (2012) & BA in Ceramics (2005) from Bath Spa University.
Career highlights include winning AWARD at the British Ceramics Biennial 2025 with the series (Not) Guilty Pleasures; a fellowship at Bath Spa University in 2025; a commission by ITV for project “ITV Creates” (2019) and a Ceramic Review “Masterclass” article & film (2020). Jo has written two books: “Handbuilt Ceramics” published by Crowood Press (2021); a second book for Crowood Press is due for publication in 2026.
